VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - The campaign of former Virginia Beach prosecutor and current State Delegate Jason Miyares continues to build momentum as his campaign announced Delegate Nick Freitas endorsed him for the Republican nomination for Virginia Attorney General. Freitas is a member of the House of Delegates and a Conservative champion in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Delegate Freitas said “During this legislative session the Democrats routinely advocated for policies that would grant early release to violent criminals while restricting the rights of law abiding citizens. And each time Jason stood up and defended us, our freedoms and the rule of law. That is the kind of courage and dedication I want to see in the attorney generals office and I am proud to stand with him.”
Jason Miyares said “I am honored to receive this endorsement from my dear friend and freedom loving colleague, Nick Freitas. Nick's leadership in the legislature and around the nation protects our Conservative rights and freedoms, especially our Second Amendment rights."

About Jason
Jason’s story begins with his mother, Miriam Maria Miyares, who fled communist Cuba in 1965 with only the clothes on her back. She legally immigrated to the United States and instilled in her three sons a passionate love of the freedom and democracy of America. Jason grew up in Virginia Beach and eventually graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, and the College of William & Mary School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. As a former criminal prosecutor in Virginia Beach, Jason prosecuted over 600 criminal cases and helped keep violent criminals off the streets. In November of 2015, he won election to the 82nd District for the House of Delegates as conservative Republican. He lives in Virginia Beach, with his wife Page Atkinson Miyares, owner of a third-generation family-owned small business.
