Colleen Holcomb released the following statement:

“I’m thrilled to endorse my friend Jason Miyares for Virginia Attorney General. Jason has the perfect blend of conservative principles, insight and experience. As a former prosecutor, Jason Miyares has literally been at the front line working with law enforcement protecting Virginia families. As a Member of the House of Delegates Jason has distinguished himself as a servant leader, a consensus builder and a principled fighter. As the son of a Cuban immigrant, Jason learned from his mother the soul-crushing devastation of Socialism, and the liberty and equality our Judeo Christian heritage and free market capitalism secure. As a devoted husband, and father to three young daughters, Jason is determined to fight to protect our freedoms and our families. Jason is the leader we need to restore Virginia.”

“It is an honor to have the ongoing support from the Pro-Life community. Life in all stages is beautiful. From day one as a legislator, I have been committed to the issue of Life. As your Attorney General, I will continue to protect the unborn, respect the sanctity of human life, and fight Governor Northam’s radical views that support infanticide.” - Delegate Jason Miyares

On December 2, Miyares announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Virginia Attorney General. In one month, Miyares raised more than $250,000. He has the highest percentage of in-state donors in the race for Attorney General. Miyares has secured dozens of endorsements from elected officials, Unit Chairmen, State Central Committee Chairs, former statewide elected officials, and conservative activists. Miyares is building solid levels of support from all regions of the Commonwealth, including Richmond, Northern Virginia, Southwest Virginia, the Valley, and Hampton Roads. Additional endorsements will be announced in the days and weeks ahead.

About Jason

Jason’s story begins with his mother, Miriam Maria Miyares, who fled communist Cuba in 1965 with only the clothes on her back. She legally immigrated to the United States and instilled in her three sons a passionate love of the freedom and democracy of America. Jason grew up in Virginia Beach and eventually graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, and the College of William & Mary School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. As a former criminal prosecutor in Virginia Beach, Jason prosecuted over 600 criminal cases and helped keep violent criminals off the streets. In November of 2015, he won election to the 82nd District for the House of Delegates as conservative Republican. He lives in Virginia Beach, with his wife Page Atkinson Miyares, owner of a third-generation family owned small business.
